a poem

frankly, there's love and then theres not
but i'm lucky that right now, it's love that i've got

tender moments in store for future, i'm sure
waiting for the moment you walk in the door.

the physical pain of your missing presence stabs
the ache and hollow inside of me grabs

the aura of light will mist round your face
our eyes will lock during the gaze

you will be home, and I'll rest quietly
peace will be stirring, you'll be with me.

I've been listening to sad music while Matt's been gone to New York! I'm just so glad he'll be home soon. (:

in honor of my public speaking class

Good morning class,
Today I will talk about #mileaday, Dr oz 3 day detox cleanse, and my ipod.

First lets talk about  #mileaday. Great things are happening this summer for me! I've been continuing my mile a day (I think I've missed 4 days in june) and will continue in july. This hashtag on instagram has been my source of inspiration for running. I get to look at the sweet comments left by my friends. Technology is wonderful! THEN i can also look at the hashtag and see everybody else who is trying to mileaday it. It's also fun to think about what I'll take a picture of when I'm running. You wouldn't believe all the amazing things on the ground. haha!

Next I will talk about dr ox cleanse. The first day I was very gung-Ho about the whole experience. Then came the second day at dinner time and I DID NOT want to drink that smoothie that had cayenne pepper again. I'm glad I tried it but I actually like food. SO I started reading this book instead.
Pretty sure this is a better fit for me. I'm a thinker. If I can THINK about food differently instead of eating gross things, I think I'll have better success.

And now I'll talk about my ipod.
So I have this terrible habit of breaking or loosing i pods. (1st world problem). So I haven't had an ipod in a long time. Miracle of Miracles, rachels old buzzing ipod starting working for me! This ipod has been in her closet for a few years. I'm so glad she saved it! Now I have this music player in my car with new music! It's like 2003 all over again! haha.

In conclusion I've talked about #mileaday, dr oz detox, and my ipod.

Have a wonderful day!

Feeling inspired

I struggle with depression. There it is. I'm not afraid to admit that. It's something I have to work on everyday. I tried the medication route and it made things worse. The exercise route has been working lately so I'm sticking with it! When I go through times of extreme depression I find it hard to be inspired and passionate. Last week was one of those weeks. (hence no posts). But Sunday rolled around and some beautiful things happened. For now I'll share one of them.
Yeah. How can you not feel inspired when you capture a moment like this?

salad, weeds, and color.

This salad = spring mix, blueberries, pears, walnuts and honey.
Other weeds, beware. This is what will happen to you if you even THINK about gettin' in my planter box.
learning more everyday.

Old things that are new to me!

What is a part of your perfect day?

Mine includes being with matt, new music, and being outside.

Feels like the last couple days have included some of those.

Yesterday Matt and I went to Alviso. The most gorgeous place in the world. I didn't bring my camera though because we ran! Matt ran with me! and when I say ran I really mean jogged, but it was still magical.  We came home made a pizza and then started a new tv series on netflix. except it's not new at all!
Yeah, It's been around forever but Matt and I only have netflix. We are obsessed. The twists and turns are so unexpected (like all good twists should be).

Yesterday I also got some new music (via the library). I found a band that I already knew I loved from mix cds friends have gotten me.

This is a fabulous CD if your looking for some summer music.

Don't you love discovering old things that are new to you?

pretty time

I lay in the bed i made
to scared to be afraid
and my life is getting shorter every day.

But i love my life,
I love the joy
I feel when I am with you.

Life feels right
when I'm with you.

chocolate cake

Rachel and I have this new thing. It's called  "dessert". We went on the hunt for something sweet and first tried the mint macaroon.
As you can tell it was alright.

I was apparently terrified to try it.
 Close up magic.
And then we learned that Buco di beppo serves family style dessert too.  (yes thats olive oil and vinegar to the left of it-we had to get our free bread before-hand).

This is the only true painting worth keeping so fat.
Poppies from my garden!
My friend had a get-together at her house last night and made the best cookies from a package ever. Betty crocker is an amazing lady.

This is Kates glass she brings with her everywhere.
Andrew being mischievous.
kristyn being pretty.
Celery not pronounced SALARY. my bad.

Vor Gott!

So I learned how to take a screenshot tonight. I got to watch Matt play for Stanford through a broadcast online! I suddenly became the soccer mom of orchestra and took over 100 shots. I'll spare you the repetition and share a few of my favorites.
The work- Beethoven nine. such an epic piece.
Yellow socks are in this season!
 Can you find my sweetheart?

 Baller.
I couldn't help taking a selfie. I had to prove, to Matt, I wore good headphones. sound quality is important in orchestral music.
(Clap clap clap) Now go listen to some Beethoven!

work blerk glerk.

Saturdays are for work. I get to work and stare out on to the bay area and breath.
How can you not just adore this view? The music school I work for actually has studios inside of a church in the hills.
My usual studio is usually enormous, but usually has a wedding going on in it. Hopefully I can teach in their next week and show you a picture.
Here was my studio for today though! Drums included.
I had all my students sing on the stage and every one of them got curious and touched the cymbals. HA! Pretty sure I would do the same thing.
