mmmm food.

One of my goals for the new year is to make a new recipe every week. With traveling this has been a little difficult but I've still managed. I really like this goal because its actually realistic! The best part is, i'll have a cookbook with 52 recipes that I've made, with a picture and notes to go with it.

2014 has had 8 weeks. So here they are:

1. banana pancakes (I add two tablespoons flax)
2. energy balls (no sprinkles for me)
3. trail mix -freeze dried berries, yogurt covered raisins, cashews
4. low calorie brownies
5 vegan no bake cookies
6 3 ingredient peanut butter cookies, (1 cup peanut butter, 1 egg, 1 cup dried cane juice)
7 soondubu jjigae (spicy tofu kimchi soup)
8 green monster smoothie

I have been inspired by two pieces of art. One a poem and the other a painting. (I sound so refined with those sentences). I was perusing Indiana's art museum and came across this painting that made me sit and stare. I'm not sure if it was the cold weather or my emotional personality but I definitely cried looking at it. I was wearing my doubled up sweats, snow jacket and a beanie. I stood out in the museum, ha! But hey, art is for everyone!

 I decided to learn more about poetry and bought a 20th century poetry book. This is my favorite poem so far.
